Thanks for being here, I'm Justin!

Looking for a coach that will keep you accountable? Your goals are my goals. After helping thousands of people as a Physical Therapist I found a passion for coaching. I am on your team, I will give you the hard truths, help you navigate the overload of fitness and nutrition info and have some nuanced conversations about pain if needed. I will be in your corner and help you stick to the plan through the ebbs and flows of this wonderful thing we call life! More fun facts about me!

Bonus: I am not married to the barbell but I am married to exercise. Barbell lifting may be in your program but it is NOT needed to improve your strength. BUT, I must inform you, if you have never done them and are willing to try, an extreme boost in confidence can be expected.

I met Justin when I was experiencing chronic back pain. I remember feeling scared and without hope of getting any better. Since we met, he was patient and knowledgeable of the potential variables that could be causing my pain. From there, we embarked on a journey requiring us to have open conversations to decipher the enigma, discipline to keep moving forward, and resilience never to give up—even though I almost did. But Justin saw progress and lifted me when I could not. 

My journey was not easy, and my recovery had its ups and downs, but he had a vision, which I trusted. He was not afraid to push my body when needed and reign back some aspects of the training to put me back on track. 

Everyone has a unique body and goals. My initial goal was to be able to walk, do the dishes, vacuum, anything that would make me independent again. I thought if there was anything I wanted back, it was to be able to walk again and accept that I would probably never get back to my active life. I have never been so wrong and so glad to be wrong. Justin trained me from scratch and now I am lifting 140 lbs of deadlift, 100 lbs in squat, and 80 lbs in bench.

I’m confident that with the knowledge I’ve learned from Justin I will continue see those numbers go up. While at the same time conserving my body and limiting myself from injuries.

Justin’s program has been a real eye opener for me! Before these 6 weeks, I was in the mindset that if I wasn’t sore after a workout, I wasn’t going to see results. Now after seeing the benefits of using RPE I’ve seen all of my PRs go up. It had been awhile since I’ve been able to add any weight to my squat/bench/and deadlift. I’m confident that with the knowledge I’ve learned from Justin I will continue see those numbers go up. While at the same time conserving my body and limiting myself from injuries. He has set me up for a life of being active and empowered me with the knowledge of how to adjust when life throws me its inevitable curveballs. I started training with Justin after two years of trying to recover from long-COVID fatigue. I was constantly worried I’d trigger a fatigue reaction that would take me out for days, so I’d avoid any sort of social activity that might involve exertion. I felt like my body was fragile and could betray me at any point. I couldn’t climb a flight of stairs without feeling gassed, and it seemed like I injured myself anytime I tried to do any kind of physical activity. I felt weak, and I’d lost a lot of trust in my body.
 
Justin was so welcoming and accommodating from the very beginning. I’d previously felt very uncomfortable in gym settings, but we started at a level that felt comfortable to me. He built workouts that worked with my limited apartment gym at a frequency that felt sustainable. He slowly introduced ways for me to gauge my exertion level and accordingly adjust weight and reps. Looking back at my progress is kind of mind blowing.
 
After just a couple months of training with Justin, I experienced a dramatic change in my quality of life. I could lift groceries without issue. I didn’t hesitate when my friends asked me to hang out because I knew I’d be able to keep up (and also knew my body well enough to gauge when I needed to take a break). I began to trust that my body was resilient and could rebuild strength.
 
Six months in, I feel strong! I’ve learned to trust my body. I know that it has my back. I trained through an injury that I thought would take me out for a few weeks – instead, Justin walked me through rest and recovery and helped me prove to myself that the best thing for recovery was keeping up movement.
